Bhumi Amla (Phyllanthus amarus) Extract Bitters 2.5%
Bhumi Amla, a tropical plant commonly found in coastal areas, is a branching annual glabrous herb growing maximum to a height of 30 - 60 cm and bears ascending herbaceous branches. The bark is smooth and light green in color & leaves are distichous subsessile with elliptic-oblong, obtuse, rounded base . The flowers are pale green which are often flushed with red. The fruits are tiny, smooth capsules containing seeds. In Ayurveda, Bhumi amla is considered as an important hepatoprotective remedy. The hepatoprotective activity has been reported because of its active compounds phyllanthin and hypophyllanthin. It is used for management of liver disorders like swelling in the liver, jaundice and weak liver functions. It also helps to prevent ulcers by reducing gastric acid production as well as protecting the stomach lining against damage caused by excessive gastric acid. Bhumi Amla also reduces the risk of kidney stone formation due to its diuretic property.
